Sailing at the Pulau Indah Marina, PSC, offers a truly unique experience. Nestled along a clean, tidal river with virtually ship-free waters, it’s an ideal location for both cruising and sailing races. The water here is clear and free from rubbish or pollution, providing a refreshing environment rarely found so close to major ports.
The river’s natural tides can offer a thrilling challenge for sailors, while just beyond lies easy access to the open waters of the Melaka Strait—perfect for those seeking adventure. The marina’s pillar structure ensures safe and stable berthing, and the entire area is secure, fenced, and guarded for peace of mind.
With stable conditions and great weather, sailing continues year-round—no need to stop when November comes. Whether you're training, racing, or simply enjoying the wind and water, Pulau Indah is the perfect base for your next sailing journey.
The introduction of the Squib fleet at Peninsular Sailing Club Selangor (PSCS) has transformed the club's racing scene and brought a distinctive new dimension to sailing in Malaysia. From the start, PSC offered regular sailing races for our dedicated group of cruising racers. But the arrival of the Squib—a 19-foot British keelboat racing class—has elevated our racing program to a whole new level.
Brought to Malaysia through the vision of our Commodore, Jeremy Camps, who had long experience with Squibs in the UK, these boats were carefully sourced from across the UK and shipped in containers, complete with sails, spinnakers, and reliable 4-stroke Mercury or Suzuki outboards. Their solid fiberglass build, combined with excellent handling and safety for up to four people, makes them ideal for both beginner and experienced sailors alike. While they're stable enough for newcomers to learn the ropes, it takes real skill to sail a Squib well—especially in the open waters and swells of the Malacca Straits, where our Sunday racing series takes place.
The fleet now numbers 18 boats, with most privately owned and one belonging to the club. In addition, PSCS maintains access to two more Squibs available for boat hire by members. As part of our inclusive spirit, we have recently opened boat rental to members of RSYC and RPDYC as well, increasing participation and expanding our sailing community.
Our Squib fleet is not only unique in Malaysia—it is the only officially recognized fleet outside the UK. We are proud to be sanctioned by the UK Squib Association to host the Malaysian Squib National Championship, now in its fourth year and run under the expert eye of Simon James, Asia’s leading Race Officer. With four different champions in four years, the competition is always open, exciting, and fiercely contested.
The Squib fleet is a perfect fit for anyone who loves the thrill of racing, values seamanship, and wants to join a club with a truly international character. For members, the club membership also includes access to boat storage, wet berths, and full use of our Clubhouse, Club Cafeteria, showers, changing rooms, and Surau—making the experience both competitive and comfortable.
Whether you’re looking to race regularly or want to improve your skills through hands-on experience, our Squib fleet offers something exceptional. Come become a member and be part of a growing, passionate fleet unlike any other in the region.
At PSCS, the adventure doesn’t stop with our renowned Squib fleet. We’re proud to offer a diverse range of club boats available for boat hire, perfect for every type of sailor—whether you're just starting out or looking for a thrilling ride.
